TaxPayer’s Alliance responds to Reform UK’s plans to remove access to the welfare state from foreign nationals

For immediate release

Responding to Reform UK’s press conference regarding abolishing indefinite leave to remain and welfare for foreign nationals, William Yarwood, media campaign manager of the TaxPayers' Alliance, said:

“Removing access to the benefits system and the NHS for foreign nationals is long overdue.

“The size and scope of our welfare system and universal healthcare system has made Britain a magnet for those looking to live a life funded by British taxpayers, and previous governments have designed an immigration system which welcomes them with open arms.

“If Reform UK wants to truly deliver change that people will feel, they need to be equally as radical in their proposals on the tax system, to ensure that any savings are delivered directly into the back pockets of British taxpayers.”
